white matter
the main goal behind this project was to create an organic path to pass freely about different levels of elevations.
we wanted to fabricate a feeling of ease, which should show the contradiction to the narrowness and obscurity of a tunnel.
if you imagine levitating along this wavy trail, you’ll find yourself wondering what is going to happen next.
in order to accomplish these thoughts we had to determine the most suitable materials.
since we intended to create a vivid and lucid path, which carries a pleasing impression within, we opted for whitewashed wood, golden columns and a white matter.
the color scheme was chosen in order to strengthen the contrast to the usual vision of a tube.
since the soul of this sculpture lays within the path itself, we decided to take its fabric as name.
white matter.

container roofing
we had to design a roofing for a recycling center in kitzingen.
we wanted to create something light, which contrasts with the heavy transporters and the containers.
so we decided to waive solid materials and used timber columns and awnings, which we arranged symmetrically above two containers, instead.
the slight transparency of the awnings creates an appealing play of lights and shades.

interluceo
the task was - for a gap site - to design a home for an artist couple and their three children.
our concept was to cut the facade into a free pattern reminiscent of sunbeams, which pervades through all floors.
the entire floor plan is based on this pattern, as well as the patio, which also serves as a cortile.
in this patio, there is a similar pattern as on the facade, which separates the various uses that result from different heights.
since this building looks as if it were being cut by many rays of light, we decided to name it after the latin term.
interluceo.

composition
as basic form, we arranged the same hexagon many times next to each other.
in order to create an exciting flat landscape, we began to set different main and secondary focal points, which stretched out into two hills and a valley through different levels of elevations.
we used clay for the mold, which we then poured out with plaster so that we could create a landscape that is reminiscent of the local basalt quarries.

pilkki
the task was to design a small house for one person, which could be used as a home for a few days while fishing on the plain ice surfaces of the arctic ocean.
we did not want to create something that contrasts too much with the given nature, so we decided to waive all kinds of edges and use curves instead.
this concept has been planned consistently, even in the interior we kept that going; bed, oven, desk, storage room and seat consists of only one piece of wood, which meanders along two of the four walls in a wave-like manner, opening up its various uses through different levels of elevations.

meteorum
with the background of the ‚landesgartenschau 2018‘ in
würzburg, we had to draft a tiny house for one person on their premises.
the location we chose was on a slope, which we didn’t want to ignore, but incorporate in our design.
we fancied something that creates a certain privacy as well as the possibility to get in touch with others, since this project was planned for a single person, we had to find a way, which connects one with the other.
to accomplish that we distorted a cuboid at its corners in order to create a new shape, which supports our thoughts.
since we dragged out the four front corners it was easy for us to fabricate different room sections; the chosen shape awakens you with sunshine that lasts the day due to the southern orientation, but provides you shades in the later hours of the day before sundown.
to create even more privacy we’ve placed the large glass facade diagonally to the pristine cuboid; through this intervention, we not only created a larger terrace, but also protect the resident from prying eyes.

n° 545
this project was meant for five people - in this case students - living together and sharing a big living room.
the street and entrance area are placed at the north side of the building.
it receives a little bit of privacy since the wall hides a small area in front of the entrance.
entering the building, you are standing in the living room, which opens itself into the private sector - in the middle of the room there is a console, which exists of a cooking area, a table, storage room and a lounge, where you may relax after a day of hard work.
the living room is accompanied by the two sleeping houses, in which the five private rooms are disposed.
there is a glass facade on the opposing side of the entrance.
if you leave the living room through this facade, you are standing in the garden, which takes its privacy of a similar wall as the entrance area, except that this is doubled by a bamboo tree row.
the name comes about the fact that this project is planned for five people living together in five areas.
five for five.

organic concrete
the main objective of this project was the principle of cluster living; we wanted to create a place, where all kinds of people could be living together, but in this very project we decided to focus on a student dorm in Wuerzburg.
the building complex consists of six hexagonal bodies, which slope down to the south in a terraced manner to allow the highest possible incidence of light.
in this dorm you will find a total of 13 living modules for three people each, with outward oriented private rooms and an interior oriented living room.
the next step was to encourage the interpersonal life in this complex, which we did by creating public spaces in the cortile and on the four roof terraces.
in the beginning we faced the problem, how it could be possible to return to a communal life from the dreary everyday life, in which man withdraws more and more into himself.
we found the answer to this question in nature, which through its large outdoor areas enters into a symbiosis with the concrete architecture in our complex and at the same time creates a connection between the people.
in order to emphasize this connection we decided to name the project after it.
organic concrete.

minimal space
the question behind this sculpture was how we could create a space with the slightest effort possible.
so we decided to simply cut out a slice and arrange it next to the initial sculpture.
the pristine sculpture is made of plaster, which we painted in the color of the cut out slice.
in contrast we used wood for the slice in order to give it a more natural texture.
even in the color scheme, we wanted a simple look, which is why we opted for light gray and black.
since we tried to stay minimalistic, we decided to name this project just as what it is.
minimal space.

neighbourhood living
the task was to plan a residential area in margetshöchheim on the local foothill, which is located at the southern side of the village. since the foothill is quite steep on its outer ends, we decided to adapt the development as much as possible to the given contour lines.
furthermore, we wanted to allow the residents to have the widest possible view from their houses on the valley.
we facilitated this by putting the individual houses in a staggered position; as a result, they do not obscure each others prospects.
in addition, we tried to fabricate a sense of community in the settlement, by creating a spacious space in the center and a children’s playground in a corner of the built-up area.
in order to allow easy crossings, we’ve planned two exists of the outer circle between the properties, which can be used as footpaths to get into the city.
